Environment and Climate

At NatWest Group we view climate change, natural resource scarcity, biodiversity loss, and their associated impacts, as significant dangers to the livelihoods of our customers and society at large, both now and in the years to come. Climate change is a global challenge which has significant implications for our customers, investors, partners, suppliers and colleagues. Our ambition is to be a leading bank in the UK helping to address the climate challenge. In 2022 we developed the initial iteration of our Climate transition plan which focuses on the delivery of our 2030 decarbonisation ambitions. This will form the basis for further work on our journey to net zero by 2050 across our financed emissions, Assets under Management (AuM) and our operational value chain.
